Discovering the birds of Banstead Woods
Every month throughout the year, a dedicated group of WoodChip volunteers sets out to discover and record the birdlife to be found in our local woodland.
Taking a varying route through the paths of Banstead Woods, the volunteers record the numbers and species of birds they see and hear. There's a wide variety to be found throughout the seasons: from a tiny Wren scuttling through the undergrowth to a Buzzard soaring high above the tree canopy. The bird count takes place on the morning of the last Tuesday of each month. If you would like to discover more about our local birdlife while enjoying a walk in the woods, you are welcome to join us. The group meets at Park Farm in Holly Lane, Banstead at 10am.
