Looking after Banstead Woods & Chipstead Downs Local Nature Reserve
COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS Following the latest Tier guidelines, we have ceased working on tasks from Sunday 20th December 2020. These guidelines may change in the New Year, so please keep yourselves aware of your local conditions. See this page for the rules that apply to our work sessions. |
Welcome to the WoodChips!
The WoodChip Conservation Volunteers operate with the Countryside Office of Reigate & Banstead Council. We work on the Banstead Woods and Chipstead Downs Nature Reserve and a privately owned site in Woodmansterne. The aim of the group is ‘caring for the countryside’ and involves not only grassland and woodland renewal, litter picking and scrub clearance but also carrying out tree planting and wildlife surveys. Our work parties are on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10:00 – 13:00 hrs. If you enjoy green spaces and relish the idea of conserving ancient woodland and downland while getting out in the fresh air, why not come and join us? Find out more > |
