The weather was fine and calm with a covering of high cloud and as Graham H and I headed out we thought the conditions were suitable for a high count. We chose this day as it looked to be the warmest of the week. Although we were slightly disappointed with lower numbers than for last week's transect, we were rewarded with a single Grizzled Skipper, found in Fames Rough.
Here are the details of what we counted:-
11 Orange Tip
9 Green Hairstreak
1 Holly Blue
1 Speckled Wood
1 Grizzled Skipper
1 Small Tortoiseshell
56 Butterflies across 8 species.
