Litter after lockdown

Back for our first task today, and 10 volunteers divided into teams to check a large part of the site for litter. Although we haven’t done this task since last year and more people have been out in the woods, we collected smaller amounts of trash than expected. Even the usually rich crop of dog poo bags was much reduced.

In addition to cans, bottles and crisp packets, no-longer-wet wipes and babies’ dummies, the biggest find was 50 nitrous oxide canisters (and the box they came in) just up the slope from Holly Lane car park.

Thanks to everyone who joined us and Andy for providing the new equipment for the task.
